My Neighborhood

A busy intersection hides a quiet neighborhood. Gray asphalt, worn by tires, divides the houses into neat rows; very organized, but also very different. Sitting on the patio, many things come to you at once.

First, you hear the rustling of the wind and feel its cool breeze lift up your hair. As leaves drift to the ground, you look up at their source, spotting birds and squirrels perched on its branches. As soon as you see them, you hear their sounds. Tweets and chirps erupt as they communicate. Listening harder, you may even hear the whir of a bike or the bark of a dog as friends of the neighborhood take lazy strolls on a gorgeous day. You hear the hum of a lawnmower and soon the scent of grass fills your nose. In the background, you hear playful screams of the neighborhood children playing tag or bouncing on a trampoline.

This symphony of sounds, smells and feelings serenades you as your eyes slowly close and you drift off into lazy dreams.
