First Day of Freshman Year
colors are flying wildly past me, and i barely have a second to process everything. my peripheral vision picks up whirls of motion in the unfamiliar, neutral-color-toned setting. Every sharp turn shows me a different pattern using two stripes. one is yellow, and the other is green. They signify the institution. i find safety in a room numbered 125, and look back over my shoulder. the room is out of the way of the ocean swirling around it. it's quiet. i turn to face the inside of the room, and i feel fear again. My stomach drops again, just like it has been constantly for ages. or was it hours? Light years or minutes, i couldn't tell the difference. The room before me was vastly different from the ocean behind me. i found myself standing at the top of a steep slope. on the rim of some vast pit, its colorful contents moving more slowly than those outside. i did not yet know my destination, so i watched until i found one small blue particle of the scene around me. i knew her well already, so i decided to follow.
