Huddled on a corner with her head peering down as a pool of water collects beneath her feet she sits. Even through the window I can see each wrinkle crease as she shudders in the cold. Her head is covered in cloth but still soaking wet. The black bench seems so cold and hard beneath her. A blue umbrella passes with a small child holding the handle, skipping along in the rain. For a second, when the woman looks up, there is a tint of happiness on her face as she remembers her joyful youth. A car at the stoplight honks and the glow in her face vanishes. By the way she huddles it's obvious this environment is new t o her. I can see a dark alley behind her that is covered from the rain. Her eyes wander from car to car as if she is searching for something specific. She holds no sign or cup for money. Her eyes glance towards her watch.
